CHRISTMAS IN FEBRUARY!

This is a picture of me with my Christmas presents. BAZINGA!

The district/zone

The zone.

Elder Ruiz who goes home this week.

Jerson who left to go on his mission to Mexico.

Soccer on our P-day. I lost!

I got my Christmas presents and a lot of letters this week. Thank you everyone for thinking of me!

People asked me if I did skin the duck. Yes I did but I had to use my cell phone a lot and I was washing my hands every couple minutes. But yes I did skin it, I did, everything except cook it. But it tasted good, like chicken, only a little better.
The week was good. We were having some difficulties but it's something that we need to work out and it´ll be good. We are going to be having a baptism this Saturday so hopefully that will go through well.

As for being slim, yes I've lost weight but I haven´t lost that much weight. So don´t worry mom, I´m not dying of hunger here, I was going to take a picture of my fridge here, to show that I have a ton in the fridge, just that we don´t have time for me to eat it all. We are doing "Barranca has Talent" I´m going to play the piano, but not sure what else we´re going to have. They don´t celebrate Valentines day in February. There's a festival in September called "Día de amor y amistad,"- Day of love and friendship. Its practically the same just in a different month.

I know that there are going to be points in the mission that will be slower than others, but it doesn't stop me from wanting to have the success and want more to help more people. To find those people that really are going to be a strength for the church here when I leave. Hopefully blessings continue for you all.

DUCK DYNASTY

I had to kill and de-feather a duck to have lunch. Thanks to the Orduña Family.

I had a virus on my Sandisk because it wouldn't let me read my photo's but I just fixed it and now I don´t have time to send them so next week will be super photo week, yay. Everyone keeps writing me and telling me how cold it is there and how much snow you have. You are all trying to make me jealous because I like colder weather. Plus you had a white Christmas, New Years, Mom's birthday and maybe Easter.

This week we had a lot of difficulties with our investigators. Practically none of them came to church and the baptismal dates that we had all fell through. But I know that we can improve it this week. We´re going to be improving the area and we are going to focus more on inviting everyone to church and to be baptized and do more service for the community.

We have our zone conference this week, so I´m looking forward to receiving my letters and hopefully the package that was sent to me. But I have to go, people to visit and souls to save.

JUST LIKE ME...SHORT AND SWEET!

I can't wait to get all my mail from December in a few weeks!

The week was good, we did a lot of searching because we want to find new people. The investigators that we have are great, but they aren't progressing very well, or are not facing the challenges that are coming as they should. I want to find that one family that perhaps I can visit once a week but after 2 or 3 months will be baptized because they understand the truth of the gospel in their lives and have a testimony of it. Being DL (district leader)is fine but it's causing me some stress because I{m trying to think of what I can do to help the district, especially as we are getting so close to the end of the transfer and I don´t want to finish the transfer and have nothing to show for my calling.

The transfers are the 22nd of February. But I think I´ll be here a transfer more still.

P.S. To My Mom: As for this week, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! How old you going to be now, 32, 28 no more than 25 right. :)

P.S.S. No pictures because the computer doesn't want to read my memory.

Over 5200 hits! THANK YOU!!!!

First I want to tell everyone thanks for the letters this week and sorry that I couldn't write more, I have letters that are just piling up because I don't have time to respond.

This week we are going to have interviews with the president of the mission and that will be interesting. One of the questions I have to prepare is, Why am I with the companion that I have now? That is a good one.

TO CHRIS, NICK, AND ADRIANNE: I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I SEND MY LOVE FOR ANNIE. SHE WAS THE SECOND GRANDMOTHER THAT I HAD GROWING UP! I WILL MISS HER AND I'M SORRY THAT I DIDN'T GET TO BE THERE. BUT I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT BEING OUT HERE I FEEL GOD'S LOVE AND I KNOW THAT HE IS HAPPY TO HAVE ANNIE BACK AND THAT SHE IS HAPPY TO BE BACK WITH HER FATHER. MAYBE WHEN I GET HOME YOU CAN TAKE ME TO VISIT HER GRAVE.

Being DL (District Leader = Leader over some of the other missionaries)is a lot harder than I thought because I have other responsibilities but I have to learn how to do it to prepare myself for the future when I have other positions of leadership.

I feel the spirit of the Lord in this work and if I´m faithful I will be able to return home and say that I gave it my all. And that is the true sign that a missionary was successful, not baptisms, callings, positions of leadership or what other companions say. If a missionary can look within him/her self and say that they gave it their all, they are successful and will receive the blessing for having left home to bring more to the glorious knowledge of this gospel.

We had a service project this week, moving materials to build a house. It was great work!

Love you all and miss you
